Season 2 was a great followup from the awesomeness of Season 1 of Friendship is Magic. Not to mention that the Canterlot Wedding was a grand way to ending a great season. With Season 3 on the horizon, there are still a few things I hope to see. Keep in mind that this is all opinion based and feel free to comment on whether you agree or disagree with my point. You have your opinions and I have mind. With that said, here are my Top 5 things I'd like to see in Season 3.

5. Interactions between Fluttershy and Applejack

Something that this show has done a great job with is developing relationships between ponies. For instance, while Look Before You Sleep was mainly AJ and Rarity fighting, in the end they settled their differences and worked together. Same can be said with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. You can see how they connect even though they are the exact opposite personality wise. (That and every shipping couple in the book has been done in fanfics) I don't recall seeing much interaction between Fluttershy and Applejack. I personally think that AJ is the one pony that could help Fluttershy with her timidness. Not only that, but Fluttershy's gift with animals could help AJ with her chores if the animals ever got out of control for some reason. There could be like an episode where Winona gets sick and Fluttershy takes care of her. From there, the two ponies could hit it off. Start a connection of their own.

4. An original villain

Nightmare Moon, Discord, and Chrysalis all have one thing in common. They boast about how awesome they are, monologue about what their evil plans are, and they all have a "menacing" evil laugh. I'm sorry, but there's nothing new to that. That and they're overconfidence usually leads to their defeat. For once, I'd like to see a villain that doesn't really talk a lot. One who let's their actions do the talking for them. Or how about one where the power of the Elements of Harmony isn't enough to beat them? Maybe the ponies need to find an alternate power to help them out? It's these kinds of things that I think could create a stronger and more intimidating villain. Yeah yeah, I know. It's My Little Pony, but I think even little girls should have the chance to experience a villain they can actually be afraid of.

3. A song for Applejack

AJ has been the only pony of the mane cast who hasn't had her own song yet. Yeah sure, she's had a part in "At the Gala", but not a song to call her own. I mean, if Rarity can have two songs and Pinkie could have a ton of short ones, don't you think AJ deserves at least one? I'm sure she has something to sing about in her heart. As Scootaloo would say, the possibilities are like endless! I mean seriously, if the Cutie Mark Crusaders can have their own song, why can't she? On a side note, if AJ ever does get her own song, Spike is the next character I'd like to see get one.

2. Appearances of Shining Armor and Cadance

Like I said before, the Canterlot Wedding was an awesome way to end the season. They took a risk with introducing these two characters without any mention of them. I though the writers did well trying to make their relationship with each other and with Twilight believable. What I'd like to see in Season 3 is for them to go a bit deeper into their relationship. Maybe have the newlywed couple visit Ponyville and try to live a normal life for a while. I just don't want these two to end up being once shot characters like Trixie was.

1. A Scootaloo episode

Let the record be clear that Scoots isn't my favorite Cutie Mark Crusader. That honor goes to Sweetie Belle. There's just SO much potential to Scootaloo's backstory...because there isn't one! I mean, think about it. Scoots is by far the least developed Cutie Mark Crusader, if not all the reoccuring characters. What exactly has Scootaloo attributed into the series? All we know is that she's a big fan of Rainbow Dash! Think about what can be done with that! Rainbow could use a lot of development too, and I think there's a way Scootaloo can help make that happen. I know there are a ton of fics out there about making Scootaloo Dash's little sister, but when you think about it, why haven't we ever seen Scootaloo's family on screen? How do we even know she has a family? She's never mentioned them. So what I'm thinking is that since Scootaloo looks up to Rainbow Dash, the two could bond a lot to form a sisterly bond. That would be a great episode imo! It would develop a loving side to Rainbow that we've still yet to see! (Even tough characters have a soft spot). It would also be nice of RD was the one who could teach Scoots how to fly. I mean, if Pound Cake can fly, why can't she? It makes no sense.

Honorable Mention: Twilight and Spike episode

If you've read my journals, then you know that I'm a big fan of Spike. Mainly because I have a soft spot for characters I feel are underappreciated or aren't treated all that well. However, his relationship with Twilight is personally my favorite relationship in the entire show. Yeah I said it. I like it even better than Sparity. And no, not as a shipping couple, but from a stand point that I feel like they have a brother-sister connection. However, it's never really addressed how much they mean to each other and how they meet. Yeah we know Twilight hatched him, but when did she exactly get Spike as an assistant? Did Celestia ask for Twilight to raise him or did Celestia herself raise him? Again, endless possibilities there. Some may argue that Twilight's more like Spike's mother, but I don't know. Twilight still doesn't really treat Spike well enough for that kind of connection. I also think this would be a great opportunity to develop Spike and give him a part in a song. Possibly a duet with Twilight about what they mean to each other.

I just had a fantastic thought. Yes, just now, reading this piece.

Since there are so many stories that haven't been told, and I have a depressing feeling we'll only get one or two more seasons, they should release a novel series.

Also, I don't know if you've heard this, but they planned three Scootaloo stories for the first two seasons, and they would reveal that she is disabled. But they were probably cancelled because they were too dark. [link]
